Introduction This first module explains the role of each member of the dental team and the tasks assigned in the workplace. At the same time, the module provides an overview of the different dental specialties in Canada and the main professional associations in the dental field. Learn more
Basic Concepts of Oral Anatomy, Pathologies and Treatments This second module will prove very important for upcoming modules, especially those focused on billing and treatment planning. Key topics addressed in this module include dental terminology, oral anatomy, oral pathologies (such as diseases affecting the mouth and teeth) and their prevention methods, treatments administered in dental clinics. Clinical Records Management The goal of this module is to familiarize students with each form in the clinical record and to explain how to complete them properly. Main subjects of the module:
- Files types and how to properly complete each section according to the law

Treatment Planning After having acquired the basic notions, the students can discover by studying this module how to effectively and correctly plan treatments in a dental clinic. This module shows management methods for all clinic documents, filing systems, document transfer methods and clinical record keeping. Time Management The information in this module is of great importance for an effective dental administrative assistant. She must learn how to organize herself in order to accomplish all her daily tasks and how to manage the unexpected. The module includes the following subjects:
– the main tasks of a dental administrative assistant – how to organize work at reception in order to accomplish all daily tasks – managing unforeseen circumstances – using the priority list
The communication aspect in a dental clinic is extremely important for the clinic’s business success. Patients, who are free to choose where they receive care, prefer a place with a warm welcome and friendly staff.
With this module, our students learn how to improve patient interactions and integrate seamlessly into the dental team. Emphasis will be placed on reception and telephone etiquette, as well as the different types of appointments.
Public Dental Coverage – Billing Concepts
This module introduces the basic billing rules for publicly funded dental care across Canada. It provides an overview of how dental coverage works in each province and territory, including eligibility, required documents, and common procedures covered. Students will explore examples and complete exercises based on real-world scenarios.
– Key concepts include:
– Overview of public dental coverage / Eligibility criteria and required documents / Reimbursed dental care and how to submit claims / Frequently used diagnostic codes and abbreviations. – Focus on provincial systems such as RAMQ (Québec), Ontario Health coverage programs, BC Healthy Kids Program, and others.
Dental Codes and Billing – Private Insurance After having mastered the concepts presented in this module, the students will be well prepared for work in the clinic. This module is considered the heart of the training because, once mastered, it ensures competence in the workplace. Topics developed:
- Operation of private insurance / the parties involved / the coordination of services
- Different categories of coverage
- Codes and Feed Guide / practical exercises
Accounting Concepts To go further and prepare for administrative work, this module teaches basic concepts about accounting in a dental clinic. The main concepts
- accounts fundamentals
- the daily journal / basic and adjustment entries
- different types of reports and receipts
- account statements and overdue amounts
- numerous examples and exercises
Dental Administrative Assistant at Work This module studies work relationships in the clinical environment. It also teaches one of the most important things: how to properly prepare and present yourself during a job interview. In addition to sample letters and resumes that will help during an interview, students will learn how to write a career objective, what mistakes to avoid and, above all, where the jobs are. Students are then invited to design their curriculum vitae and a cover letter and our team will be happy to provide them with advice, if necessary.
Dental Software
The dental software training allows students to optimize their performance in computerized clinical environments. This is the most effective formula to date for mastering a dental software. Stages of training:
1- in-depth study of the software functionalities
2 – individual practice under the supervision of a teacher (by Zoom) 3 – independent online practice
